OLDSMAR, Florida – An Oldsmar city guide is accused of driving under the influence of three vehicles.
At around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to a multiple vehicle crash on West Hillsborough Avenue and Race Track Road. A witness called 911 and informed shipping that a red Tesla was traveling erratically and then left another vehicle behind. The accident resulted in the victim’s vehicle driving into the car in front of it, HCSO said.
Upon arrival, MPs said 59-year-old Linda Norris had blurred her words and her movements were “unstable”. In their vehicle, the MPs found an open container with Fireball whiskey and two other closed bottles in their handbag.
Norris, the vice mayor and councilor of Oldsmar, failed the field sobriety tests and refused to provide a breath sample, HCSO said.
MPs arrested Norris, accusing her of driving under the driver’s influence – third conviction and refusal to undergo tests.
No one was seriously injured in the wreck with three vehicles, HCSO said.
The Mayor of Oldsmar, Eric Seidel, issued the following statement:
“Based on what the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office posted online, we are disappointed to learn of Linda’s reported conduct. However, we are currently learning about the event and are currently unaware of any additional details.”
