The store is kicking off its seasonal recruiting efforts by holding its second annual National Recruitment Day event entirely over the phone. Kohls is committed to hiring hordes of seasonal workers at its department store and e-commerce fulfillment center locations.
“We plan to add seasonal employees to our network to support increased holiday demand both in business and through our digital channels such as Kohls.com and the Kohl’s app,” said Marc Chini, Head of Human Resources at Kohl, in one Hiring announcement. “We know customers will be shopping online more than ever this year, and we are staffed to support the increased digital fulfillment efforts.”
The announcement didn’t specify how many seasonal workers the company is planning to hire, but a spokesperson told The Penny Hoarder that the hiring will be on par with past holiday seasons.
Kohl hired more than 90,000 seasonal workers in the past year and 2018.
The National Recruitment Day 2020 event will take place on October 3rd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local time. Last year, Kohl hired 5,000 seasonal workers during the hiring event even though it was on-site.
To take advantage of the same day hiring event, you will need to complete an online application for a seasonal branch position or a job at the distribution center.
After completing the application, you can schedule a call between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. the day of the event.
There are many seasonal performances outside of the event.
Seasonal jobs at Kohl
Kohls divides his seasonal jobs into two categories: store jobs and sales jobs.
Warehousing, retail sales and fulfillment staff are the three main roles in the business based on seasonal job openings. These positions require basic math and technology skills, legible handwriting, and the ability to carry 50 pounds. Otherwise, they are beginners, although some experience in customer service is preferred.
Sales orders include warehouse and damage prevention employees. As a warehouse worker, you need the same basic skills as in business, but the work is more physically demanding. Loss prevention jobs require a high school diploma or GED. Preferred qualifications include a background in a loss prevention, law enforcement, or distribution center role and knowledge of Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft software.
Kohls does not have company-wide minimum wage or salary information in his applications. According to national wage estimates by glass door and IndeedThe seasonal pay is approximately $ 10 per hour. All seasonal workers are paid weekly and receive a 15% discount. If you work 30 hours a week or more, you are also entitled to health insurance.
