LAKELAND, Florida – Publix says the face mask requirement will remain in place once the state enters Phase 3 of the reopening.
Governor DeSantis announced phase 3 during a press conference in St. Petersburg on September 25th. In the new phase, restaurants and selected companies can reach their full capacity.
The order also suspended fines and penalties related to the enforcement of COVID-19. However, the order does not overwrite the local mask regulations.
A food chain spokesman said: “We haven’t made any changes to our current policies in light of the Phase 3 announcement.” The stores Face covering has been required since July.
In August Publix eliminated one-way streets in places where this was not required by local ordinance.
